American Traitor

If this post is dated before 2011, I almost certainly do not agree with its contents any more. I had a profound philosophical shift that began in early 2010, which ultimately left me somewhere left of center. Please disregard all right-wing, nutjob ramblings you may find here.

After an attack on the men of the 101st Airborne at Camp Pennsylvania in Kuwait, it’s been revealed that it was an inside job. Sky News is also reporting (as are a few others) that the “American” in custody is a Muslim. If that’s true, any other Muslim members of our forces over there should come under an extremely high degree of scrutiny henceforth.

There was an analyst on Fox News worrying (rightly) about the Muslim Imam chaplains that are deployed with our troops. It never crossed my mind that there would be Muslim chaplains, but I guess they provide “equal coverage” with the Christian chaplains. Anyway, this guy was worrying what would happen if any of these Imams are sympathetic to the fatwas issued by the nutcase Muslim clerics in various barbaric Arab countries. If these chaplains are counseling Muslim US soldiers not to obey orders, and to be “good little Muslims” and take up arms against “the Great Satan”, that could be a big problem for the good guys. And one that would be difficult to deal with. I’m sure there are some very loyal and dependable Muslim members of the US Armed Forces, so it would be wrong to just confine all of them, or send them all back to the US until hostilities are over. But this is potentially a serious problem. I don’t really know how they should deal with it. I hope someone more higher placed than I knows what to do…

One thing is for certain. Whatever this man’s religion, if he really is the one who did it, he is a traitor and should be prosecuted and sentenced accordingly.
