Israeli and Arab “Peace Summit”

If this post is dated before 2011, I almost certainly do not agree with its contents any more. I had a profound philosophical shift that began in early 2010, which ultimately left me somewhere left of center. Please disregard all right-wing, nutjob ramblings you may find here.

There’s been quite a bit of talk the last few days about the upcoming summit between Israeli PM Ariel Sharon and the new “prime minister” of the Palestinians. That talk has mostly centered on Sharon’s use of the word “occupation” in a speech yesterday to describe the Palestinian condition, signaling that he’s willing to discuss more Israeli concessions. Of course now that disgusting clod Yasser Arafat is demanding that Sharon meet with him exclusively and not with his newly appointed PM, which really means Sharon might as well not bother going. It doesn’t matter. Arafat is not interested in anything short of the destruction of Israel. I’m firmly convinced that unless Sharon offers to have all Israeli Jews thrown into the sea, the Palestinian leadership will never accept any peace plan and the terrorist attacks will continue unabated.
