Bush Appoints Pickering!!!
Finally! President Bush has just done a recess appointment of Judge Charles Pickering to a federal appeals court, sticking his finger in the eye of the DemocRATs who have been filibustering all of his judicial nominations. The details are here. With a recess appointment the installed person’s term expires at the beginning of the next Congressional term, which is January 2005. The Senate must re-afirm him before then or he’s out, but perhaps by then the worthless DemocRATs who seem to love being obstructionists over serving the country will have lost the will to fight… We can only hope.
I’m sure this is going to send the liberals over the edge, but it’s fully Constitutional and lots of Presidents have done it, including Saint JFK and Bill Clinton.
Now President Bush need to do the same thing for Janice Rogers Brown. It’s too bad that Miquel Estrada removed his name from consideration due to the abuse he suffered at the hands of worthless Senate DemocRATs.
