If this post is dated before 2011, I almost certainly do not agree with its contents any more. I had a profound philosophical shift that began in early 2010, which ultimately left me somewhere left of center. Please disregard all right-wing, nutjob ramblings you may find here.
You know, this stuff just writes itself. Last week the Pope called out Islamic extremists for being, essentially, murderous barbarians. He was quoting a 14th-century Byzantine Christian emperor who apparently knew more than we do. Anyway, they were not too happy with being labeled as murderous barbarians, so what do they do? They threaten to act like murderous barbarians, and then they start acting like murderous barbarians. That’ll show the world how peaceful the “Religion of Peace” is. The Pope has now issued an apology, the pansy. He shouldn’t have. And the representatives of Islam are doing nothing but proving his point.
If a billion muslums had rioted there wouldn’t be much left.
Let’s make a realy wild estimate of 100,000 rioters. I think we can agree that number is on the high side.
With a billion muslums on the planet that’s 0.01% of the muslums rioting.
Which means you owe 99.99% of them an apology.
Yeah Jon, I’ll be sure to get my apology right out there… Does the irony of this really escape you? The Pope calls Islam out for what it is, a violent religion, and representatives of that religion threaten violence against the Pope. And anywhere in the world anytime anyone criticizes Islam, they get death threats. Those are not the hallmarks of a peaceful religion.
