I didn't try IMAP since it doesn't really download the messages, so much as let you view them, right? I use IMAP from my iPhone to get to my Gmail account, but it doesn't copy the messages to the phone unless I actually try to view them. And then if I move or delete a message, that happens on the server. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think IMAP will work in this instance.

Have you tried migrating between GMail accounts using an IMAP client? You should be able to do more than 200 at a time.

I love Gmail, but I like having my @joeygibson.com address better. Back in the 90's I used whatever ISP-supplied email address I had, but as I moved from one to another, I got tired of having to let my friends know about my address change. I bought joeygibson.com back in 2000, and my address has been the same ever since. I love not having to worry about losing email when/if I change ISPs.

I'm kind of embarrassed to say it, but I used to be proud of having the @gmail address. It kind of made me feel special. I could definitely see an advantage to using your name as the domain in your email. Since I don't have drewcrawford.com I think I'll stick to using gmail. I'm very surprised that it is difficult to transfer gmail accounts.
