Game 1 was quite good. And then my consistent inconsistency kicked in, and game 2 was an unqualified disaster. Game 3 was better, so the night was not a total loss.
In the sixth frame of game 1, my score was 106. I thought to myself, “Self, you’re going to break 200 on this one.” And from that point on, it was a disaster… I did redeem myself in game 3, though.
Last night was my best overall night in two years. I’ve had higher scores twice before, but for the series this was the best ever. I added two points to my average with these three games.
I’m not sure why I didn’t post my last two weeks scores, but here they are, along with last night’s. I had my best three games of the season so far last night.
Tonight was the beginning of our new bowling season. I haven’t bowled a single frame since April, so I was a bit concerned about how my game would be. My first game was great. Second was not so good. Third was better. It’s good to be back.
Last night was the final night of the season and it was a mixed bag. The first and third games were quite good. The second was painful. Really. I mean it. Physically painful. Let me ’splain.
In the 9th frame of the first game, as I made my approach, my left foot slipped and I ended up in a quasi-split. At that precise moment, it felt as if someone had just shoved a bayonet into my right inner thigh. You know where I’m talking about it. So most of the 2nd game was physically painful to bowl. A team-mate gave me some Tylenol which kicked in about half-way through that game, so it wasn’t a total loss, but it certainly wasn’t any fun.
Last night was fun. Game 1 worked out well. Game 2 was a bit unsettling, because I went into the 10th frame with an appalling 110. But in the 10th I somehow got 3 strikes. Very nice. Game 3 was uneventful, but I was ready to go home.
